One of our stops along the journey between Cape Town and Kruger National Park is the Nelson Mandela Capture Site near Howick, KwaZulu Natal.
Nelson Mandela was arrested on 5 August 1962 at this spot after which he spent 27 years of his life in prison as a political prisoner. The Nelson Mandela Capture Site commemorates this moment in history with a visitor centre and a world renowned sculpture.
