Our Fleet

We operate a fleet of 18 Honda motorcycles: the Africa Twin CRF1000, Transalp 750 and Africa Twin XRV750. All the bikes are owned and lovingly taken care of by us. We're not shy to say we're big Honda Africa Twin fans. After 6 years of riding these bikes all over the African continent we've grown to love their reliability, great handling and ability to take whatever African roads throw our way. They're not the most powerful bikes but are great fun to ride. We're growing the Africa Twin fanbase with each adventure we set out on.

We love the Honda Africa Twin XRV 750. These classic motorcycles are strong, comfortable, easy to maintain and capable of pretty much anything African roads can throw our way. Our guests who ride them leave as fans.

The Honda Africa Twins were everything a person could need to travel the rugged terrain.  I own a BMW F800gs, and was still blown away by the maneuverability of the AT and it’s ability to tackle a variety of conditions.  Andrew’s knowledge of the mechanical aspect of the bike and riding expertise provided a completely worry free traveling experience.

The bikes we rode for absolutely perfect for the trip. Africa Twin! I'm a fan for life.

Meet Our XRV750 Family

The Honda Africa Twin has a committed global following. Sturdy and reliable, and able to handle any kind of road that Africa has in store; this motorcycle is a fantastic bike for African adventures. Ride Down South’s fleet of 8 classic Africa Twin XRV750s are lovingly named after female action heroes and are looked after like the gold that they are. Our XRV750s have all been bought, rebuilt and ... um, given names - mostly inspired by female action hero characters. We're that fond of them. Here's our cast of heroes:
