"A grand tour of beautiful landscapes, exotic animals, and great roads. Andrew and Ride Down South took into account our group's preferences when route planning and we had a great variety of accommodations, but uniformly great experiences. There’s an expression that Africa gets “under your skin and into your blood” and I can’t wait to go back for another two-wheeled adventure with Andrew and Ride Down South."

Trip Stats and Details

Explore the coastlines, mountains and wildlife of South Africa on one of our favourite motorcycle tours. This ride is being organised in partnership with Paleriders Cambodia as a charity ride in support of Grow Recruitment - a non-profit organisation seeking to reduce youth unemployment in South Africa.

Our route follows a similar path to the Cape2Kruger ride in the opposite direction.

We begin with a two-day stay in the Kruger National Park - a Big 5 game reserve with abundant wildlife. We then head south through Swaziland towards the Drakensberg mountains, stopping in at Spioenkop - a famous Anglo-Boer war battlefield. We then continue towards the Drakensberg mountains - the highest range in South Africa. We have the option of exploring the famous Sani Pass before heading to the coastline and three nights exploring the magnificent and remote Wild Coast at Coffee Bay and Cintsa.

Our route then takes us inland to Addo Elephant Park where we get a chance for a rest day in the company of these magnificent creatures. Continuing south towards Cape Town we join the famous Garden Route - stopping in at Storms River, Tsitsikamma forest and Knysna. We then head north-west into the rugged Swartberg mountains to ride through some breathtaking mountain passes - Seweweekspoort, Swartberg pass and possibly also Gamkaskloof into 'The Hell' valley. Our last leg takes us through the iconic Route 62 and down to Cape Agulhas - the southernmost point in Africa. We then ride through some beautiful mountain passess in the Cape Fold mountains before arriving in Cape Town.
